Mount Pleasant Mayor Proclaims December 8th and 9th "Pilgrim's Pride Bowl Classic Days"

Mount Pleasant, TX, November 30, 2006 - Mount Pleasant Mayor Jerry Boatner today proclaimed December 8-9, 2006, as "Pilgrim's Pride Bowl Classic Days" at a special ceremony held in the Mount Pleasant High School Fieldhouse.

"The proclamation recognizes Pilgrim's Pride Corporation and Mount Pleasant ISD for once again hosting the annual bowl game in our community," said Judi Saxton, MPISD director of public information. "This event has a significant economic impact on our region and, thanks to television coverage from Fox Sports Southwest, will introduce our community to millions of viewers. It represents a tremendous opportunity to showcase the region and shine a positive light on all that we have to offer in northeast Texas."

Event Information
The third annual Pilgrim's Pride Bowl Classic football game will be held December 9, 2006, at Sam Parker Field in Mount Pleasant. A tail-gate party will begin at 11 a.m. that day featuring the music of "Doctor, Doctor." Pre-game is scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m., with kick-off to follow at 1 p.m. pitting top-ranked Blinn College of Brenham, Texas, against second-ranked Pearl River Community College of Poplarville, Mississippi.

Reserved seat tickets for the game are now on sale at the Mt. Pleasant High School Business Office. Reserved seats are $10 for chair-back seats and $8 for the remaining reserved seats. General admission seats are $6 and are located on the visitor's side of the field. General admission tickets are on sale at area banks, MPHS, the MPISD Administration Building and the Titus County-Mt. Pleasant Chamber of Commerce. Call (903) 434-8587 for tickets.
