Pilgrim's Pride Bowl Classic Returns to Mount Pleasant for Second Year
The Pilgrim's Pride Bowl Classic is returning to Mount Pleasant ISD's Sam Parker Field on Saturday, December 3. Last year's football game between Kilgore College and Pima County Community College brought a large crowd to Mount Pleasant and was televised by Fox Sports Southwest. This year's game and the accompanying festivities promise to be just as exciting.
"The clash of top ranking junior college football teams will bring in fans from all around the area," said Marc McDaniel, MPISD athletics business manager and bowl committee member.
Other activities are being planned to entertain the football teams while they are in Mount Pleasant.
"We're having a luau, Texas style, on Thursday night for the teams and their coaches," said Cheri Schneider, communication coordinator for Pilgrim's Pride, "and Friday night before the big game, we are planning a banquet at the Civic Center. A limited number of tickets will be available to the public for the banquet."
Local cheerleaders and bands will set the stage for hard-hitting football action with a pre-game show that will not only entertain the crowd, but will also inspire and motivate the teams.
Tickets are on sale now at the Mount Pleasant High School field house -
(903) 434-8587. Tickets for reserved seats are $10.
