Hometown Boy to Fly F-16 above Pilgrim's Pride Bowl Classic

Mt. Pleasant, Texas - November 18, 2004 - Screaming across the skies of Mt. Pleasant in a F-16 fighter jet before the Pilgrim's Pride Bowl Classic will be hometown boy and 149th Fighter Wing Vice Commander with the Texas Air National Guard Jack Presley.

Presley will make his dramatic appearance Saturday, December 4, right before the inaugural Pilgrim's Pride Bowl Classic kickoff at 12:30 p.m. which will be broadcast live by Fox Sports Southwest.

"Flying has always been fun for me," Presley commented. "The Air Force and Air National Guard both are enjoying tremendous public support right now. As a way to say 'thank you,' we do our best to support events such as the Pilgrim's Pride Bowl in our local communities."

Presley graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1978. He is the son of Randy and Jan Presley of Mt. Pleasant. Randy flew in the Air Force and encouraged Jack to fly. Jack and his wife, Lesa, and two children Kevin, 12, and Laura, 9, live in Boerne, Texas, north of San Antonio where he trains pilots to fly the F-16 for the Texas Air National Guard.

In the Pilgrim's Pride Bowl Classic, Kilgore Junior College is pitted against Pima Community College of Tucson, Arizona. Kilgore, 10-1 for the season, is champion of the Southwest Junior College Football Conference. Pima is 8-3 for the season.

Bo Pilgrim, Chairman of Pilgrim's Pride, will toss the game coin prior to the contest.

A pre-game tailgate party will feature Pilgrim's Pride chicken sandwiches prepared on a 55 foot smoker and grill from Mrs. Baird's - the largest in the world. Tickets for Pilgrim's Pride Bowl Classic are on sale at Brookshire's and Super 1. Adult tickets are $6; student tickets are $3.
