Pilgrim's Pride Bowl Classic to be Televised on Fox Sports Southwest

Mt. Pleasant, Texas - November 12, 2004 - The Pilgrim's Pride Bowl Classic - where two of the top junior college football teams will compete on Saturday, December 4 at Sam Parker Field in Mt. Pleasant -- will be broadcast live by Fox Sports Southwest.

Kickoff time for the game has been rescheduled to 12:30 p.m. to accommodate Fox Sports Southwest's broadcast schedule.

"We are thrilled that Fox Sports Southwest's broadcast will enable millions of football fans to enjoy this great new bowl game," said Dan Emery, vice president of marketing for Pilgrim's Pride.

The new kickoff time will mean that the tailgate party featuring Pilgrim's Pride chicken sandwiches will begin at 10 a.m. with the world's largest smoker and grill from Mrs. Baird's.

Tickets for Pilgrim's Pride Bowl Classic will be on sale in mid-November at Brookshire's and Super 1. Adult tickets are $6; student tickets are $3.

Pilgrim's Pride Corporation, the nation's second largest poultry company, is sponsoring the inaugural Pilgrim's Pride Bowl Classic football game, matching one of the top teams from the Southwest Junior College Football Conference and a team from another league to be determined.

The Pilgrim's Pride Bowl Classic is officially sanctioned by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and is one of eight junior college bowl games in the nation scheduled for 2004.
